Advocacy and Legislation
ACRM successfully amended Alabama’s mental health laws, protecting consumer choice and recovery services.
ACRM successfully passed a consumer protection bill scheduling Kratom via the Alabama legislature to respond to predatory supplement industry practices that threaten recovery communities.
ACRM successfully worked with the Alabama Department of Public Health to protect consumers from Tianeptine, an unregulated, addictive supplement with dangerous withdrawal symptoms.
ACRM successfully helped send a bill to the Governor's office scheduling Tianeptine and Phenibut, two illegally imported European pharmaceuticals that act like opioids and benzodiazepines.
